Adams Bikes for Sale

Delbert Adams, a Canadian entrepreneur, saw an opportunity in the bicycle marketplace and developed a product to fill that need. In 1986, he patented his idea and the Trail-a-Bike was born. The Trail-a-Bike allows parents with small children to take to the roads with their children in tow. The Trail-a-Bike, designed exclusively for children, allows parents to instill confidence, balance, and good safety habits before their children begin to ride bicycles under their own power.

The original Trail-a-Bike has a low center of gravity, allowing small children to feel confident enough to sit upright and enjoy the ride. The Trail-a-Bike typically has a seat, pedals, and handlebars. Brakes are not a feature on the Trail-a-Bike.

The Trail-a-Bike attaches to the seat post of the lead bicycle using a patented universal joint that pivots and does not require a weight-bearing surface. The Trail-a-Bike conveniently folds into a compact size for easy storage in the trunk of an automobile.

Adams Bike Products

Since the introduction of the Trail-a-Bike in 1986, it has undergone many innovations. Trail-a-Bike now offers several designs that will accommodate children ages 3-5, 4-6, and 7-10 years old. A tandem model is available with a seven-speed Shimano drive train so little tykes can enjoy the ride without experiencing the fatigue of hard pedaling. An aluminum version is now available, offering lightweight, yet maintaining its strength and ease of folding transport. All models come standard with a safety flag.

A baby seat is available accommodating children age 1-3. An optional backrest will accommodate children age 3 and up.

The Adam’s line-up includes the Runner, which allows children to sit on the bicycle seat and steer, yet it has no pedals or chain. It sits low to the ground and children can learn balance first, gaining confidence before they learn to pedal. The Runner is a great alternative to training wheels for children ages 2-5.
