Dirt jumping is an extreme sport and demands the use of high tensile strength frame much like a mountain bike. The stand-over height is low to keep the seat out of the way of the biker for spins and other tricks. Wheels of jump bikes are more robust than those on a mountain bike and employ a single or dual disc brake. Single-speed clutch is the most common type of jump bikes since speed is not a factor in this sport. Dirt bikes have 24-inch or 26-inch wheels and a 25-36 tooth chain-ring with a short- to mid-travel fork.
